Where is our Water Flowing? Water Conservation in Colorado w/ Jayla Poppleton (Water Education Colorado) & Kate Ryan (Colorado Water Trust)
February 16, 2022 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
Women in Sustainability presents Where is our Water Flowing? Water Conservation in Colorado w/ Jayla Poppleton (Water Education Colorado) & Kate Ryan (Colorado Water Trust).
Water is life. We hear that a lot, but have you stopped to think about, where DOES our water come from? In the State of Colorado, our main water supply comes from the western slopes (aka snow pack) and has a long, complex history. Unfortunately, as climate change accelerates and water demands for Colorado increase, we are in the beginning stages of water scarcity and potential water shortages. So what can we do? A lot! On February 16, join us along with our nonprofit partners for a webinar featuring panelists Jayla Poppleton with Water Education Colorado and Kate Ryan with Colorado Water Trust to learn about the history of water in Colorado, where we are today and what we need to do now for the future. At the end of the presentation, we’ll also ask attendees to join in making a water commitment for 2022! So grab a big glass of H2O and come be a part of this extremely important conversation on water conservation.
Keep in mind, the discussion in this webinar will be focused on our home state of Colorado, but there will be tips that individuals across the country can apply too.
This is a virtual event.
